Integrations
LearnLayer for Zoom
Last updated: June 20, 2026
This guide explains how to add, use, and remove the LearnLayer integration for Zoom. The integration lets training teams schedule and launch live Zoom sessions from LearnLayer, enroll learners, and automatically capture attendance and completion records against the courses and certifications you manage in LearnLayer.
If you run into any problems or have questions, see the Support section at the bottom of this page.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
- An active LearnLayer account with administrator permissions.
- A Zoom account. To approve the app for your whole organization, you will need a Zoom account owner or administrator with permission to install Marketplace apps.
- Permission within Zoom to install third-party Marketplace apps (some organizations restrict this to admins).
1. Adding the App
You can add the LearnLayer integration from within LearnLayer:
- Sign in to LearnLayer as an administrator.
- Go to Settings → Integrations and locate Zoom.
- Select Connect. You will be redirected to Zoom to sign in.
- Review the permissions (scopes) the app requests, then select Allow to authorize the connection.
- After you authorize, Zoom redirects you back to LearnLayer and the integration shows as Connected.
Alternatively, you can install the app from the Zoom App Marketplace. Search for LearnLayer, open the listing, select Add, and follow the prompts to grant access. You will then be directed to LearnLayer to finish connecting your account.
If your Zoom organization requires admin approval, an account administrator may need to pre-approve LearnLayer in the Zoom App Marketplace before other users can add it.
2. Using the App
Once the integration is connected, you can manage live training sessions in Zoom directly from LearnLayer:
- Schedule a Zoom session — When creating or editing a course or live event in LearnLayer, choose Zoom as the delivery method. LearnLayer creates the Zoom meeting and stores the join link with the session.
- Invite and enroll learners — Enrolled learners receive the Zoom join link through LearnLayer, so you do not need to share meeting details separately.
- Launch and join — Instructors and learners join the session from the course page in LearnLayer or from their calendar invitation.
- Track attendance and completion — After a session ends, LearnLayer records attendance and updates progress, completion, and certification status automatically.
The integration only accesses the Zoom data needed to schedule meetings and record attendance for sessions you create in LearnLayer. For details on what data we collect and how we use it, see our Privacy Policy.
3. Removing the App
You can disconnect and remove the LearnLayer integration at any time.
From LearnLayer
- Sign in to LearnLayer as an administrator.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Zoom.
- Select Disconnect and confirm. LearnLayer stops accessing your Zoom account immediately.
From the Zoom App Marketplace
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Select Manage → Added Apps, or search for the LearnLayer app.
- Open the LearnLayer app listing.
- Select Remove and confirm.
When you remove the app, Zoom revokes LearnLayer's access to your account and we stop receiving data from Zoom. Within 30 days of removal, we delete or anonymize the Zoom data we obtained through the integration, except where we are required to retain it to meet a legal obligation. To request deletion sooner, contact us using the details below.
Troubleshooting
- The connection fails or expires — Disconnect the integration in LearnLayer and connect again to refresh the authorization.
- You cannot add the app — Your Zoom organization may require administrator approval. Ask your Zoom account admin to approve LearnLayer in the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Attendance is not recorded — Make sure the session was created through LearnLayer and that the integration shows as Connected in Settings → Integrations.
